Billboard Hot 100, 19 February, 2011
1. Black and Yellow - Whiz Khalifa
American rapper Whiz Khalifa scores his first chart topper with "Black and Yellow," the lead single from his forthcoming major label debut Rolling Papers. Khalifa has released two albums and one single prior, "Say Yeah" which wasn't included on either album and peaked at #19 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100. This is the first hip-hop song to top the Hot 100 since Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna (depending on whether you would dub Far East Movement's "Like a G6" hip-hop or not).
3. Firework - Katy Perry
Pop singer Katy Perry's "Firework" stays put at #3 this week, however where Perry's achievement lies this week is on the Radio Songs tally, on which "Firework" ascends 2-1, making Perry the third solo female artist after Mariah Carey and Rihanna to score 3 consecutive #1's. She previous topped the chart with "Teenage Dream" and "California Gurls" featuring Snoop Dogg.
5. I Need a Doctor - Dr. Dre feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey
American rapper Dr. Dre makes his return to the Hot 100 with his new single "I Need a Doctor" featuring Eminem and Skylar Grey, the lead single from his upcoming third studio album Detox, which crashes into the chart at #5. It's the rapper's highest charting single since his second single "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang" featuring a then-known-as Snoop Doggy Dogg peaked at #2, in January 1993 and it's also his fourth top 10 overall. This is Eminem's fourteenth and Skylar Grey's second.
11. Look at Me Now - Chris Brown feat. Lil Wayne & Busta Rhymes
Just missing out on the top 10 is R&B singer Chris Brown who debuts at #11 with "Look at Me Now" featuring American rappers Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, the second single released from his upcoming fourth album F.A.M.E. It's his seventeenth top 20, including features.
16. Fuck You - Cee Lo Green
This week's airplay gainer honor goes to Cee Lo Green's "Fuck You" which climbs 2 spots up to #16 this week.
22. Moment 4 Life - Nicki Minaj featuring Drake
An exciting week for American female rapper Nicki Minaj. Her latest single "Moment 4 Life" featuring Drake, climbs 5 spots up to #22, scoring her second highest chart single so far, behind "Your Love" which peaked at #14 last year--the single also tops the Rap Songs tally; her second single to do so also making her the first female rapper to achieve 2 rap #1's from 1 album as well as the first to do it simultaneously, as her debut album Pink Friday ascends to #1 spot on the Billboard 200 this week, in it's 11th week of release. The only album to take longer to reach #1 on that chart is Ray Charles's Genius Loves Company which topped the chart in its 25th week, following its AOTY win at the Grammys.
31. S&M - Rihanna
This controversy surrounding the new Rihanna video for her latest single "S&M" seems to have benefited the Barbadian singer a lot, as this week the single storms up 35 spots up to #31, scoring her 17th top 40 single as well as earning this weeks digital gainer honor.
